ITFA Taekwon-Do Sale is alive and kicking!!!

Posted In News | on July 27, 2014

ITFA Taekwon-Do Sale, East Gippsland, VIC, got off to a flying start last Wednesday with their first class really well attended. Mr Adam Collins, I Dan, who has been practicing Taekwon-Do for many years approached the ITFA a few months ago in search of traditional ITF-style. After attending the Grading in Bruthen with Mr Hill and Mr Goddard, Mr Collins had many discussions with Master Rhee and decided a new ITFA club in Sale was the way forward for him.

The ITFA caught up with Mr Collins to ask him how he found out about the ITFA and what his plans are for the future:

“How did you find out about the ITFA?

Initially seeking to become a member of the ITF and separate myself from the previous club I was instructing at, it quickly became apparent to me that there was no longer just one ITF, but multiple independent groups with their own agendas and no linking qualities. To me what began as a promising search to find a professional organisation to associate with quickly turned into a confusing and discouraging experience. It was only after searching online for alternatives did I discover the ITFA. After reading and discovering more about the lineage, goals and core values of the ITFA it showed me quite simply that the ITFA was and is the best choice for me and my club.

What attracted to you to join?

The lineage, professionalism and the mission of the ITFA to maintain the highest standards of Taekwon-Do teaching appealed to me and my own goals as a Taekwon-do Instructor. After meeting with Master Rhee, discussing Taekwon-do and realising the depth of his knowledge and the possibilities of what I can learn from him and other members of the ITFA made the decision for me, quite easy.

What are you looking forward to in your first year with the ITFA?

First and foremost I am looking forward to starting my own Taekwon-do club and seeing it flourish. I believe that with the backing of the ITFA, I will be able to achieve this.

I am also looking forward to further developing my abilities as an instructor through the IIC courses, with a world renowned Taekwon-do Master and meeting other members of the ITFA.”
